SAFDAR ALI QURESHI
Born 1980 in Larkana, Pakistan.
Lives and works in Hyderabad, Pakistan.
Qureshi specialized in miniature painting when studying fine art at the National College of Art in Lahore. After graduating in 2005, Qureshi began experimenting outside the confines of miniature painting with narrow color palettes and abstract compositions. His paintings are now characterized by his dashes and use of monochromatic schemes. Qureshi’s works are a direct response to his experiences, capturing his memories in swirling and overlapping layers. Prior to dedicating himself to his art practice full time, Qureshi taught miniature painting at SABS University of Art, Design and Heritages Jamshoro, a short distance from his home in Hyderabad.
