WAQAS KHAN
Born 1982 in Akhtarabad, Pakistan.
Lives and works in Lahore, Pakistan.
Waqas Khan's large-scale minimalist drawings resemble webs and celestial expanses. He employs small dashes and minuscule dots to create large entanglements. An inclination towards literature and interest in the lives of Sufi poets suffuses Khan's art with an idea of togetherness and seeing many as a magnanimous totality. Khan's work also evokes a sense of scripting, which he likes to see as a discourse between him and his viewer, a dialogue formatted over the syntax of a monologue.
